(1) A Certificate of Registry is not proof of ownership; (2) Details of registered mortgages are not shown; (3) The Registry (RSS) must be informed immediately of any changes to the ship's particulars or ownership, or if the vessel is lost; (4) The certificate must be surrendered to the Registry if the ship ceases to be a British registered ship; (5) A duplicate must be obtained if the certificate is lost or becomes illegible; and (6) For further information contact the Registry of Shipping and Seamen (RSS).
