Shipowners

Shipowners. The owners of a vessel are the persons or companies officially registered as owners of the ship.

The certificate of registry, issued by the registrar, contains the particulars which have been entered in the β€œregister”, concerning the β€œownership” of the vessel, in particular:

(a) the name of the ship and home port, i.e., port of registry

(b) the particulars respecting her origin stated in the declaration of ownership.

(c) the name and description of her registered owner; if more than one, the proportionate share of each.
